People living with a mental health condition can see and hear the world differently.
All aspects of life are affected and can make simple everyday activities like walking to the shops; handling money and communicating with people a very daunting and challenging task.
Sadly, 1 out of every 3 of our family, friends or colleagues in Scotland will be diagnosed with a mental health condition within the next 12 months.
Conditions such as stress, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, suicidal feelings, eating disorders, dissociative disorders (related to drugs and alcohol) and bipolar are to name a few. A mental health condition can affect anyone regardless of their age.
At VSA, we provide five residential mental wellbeing facilities that provide 24 hour support for people living with severe or enduring mental health conditions. These facilities are a mix of rehabilitation and long term placement.
Across all of our residential services, we provide a range of individualised person-centred support which promotes independence, peer support and social integration.
Our recovery model is at the heart of our work; we ensure people receive the required support to make sure they are able to build skills that allow them to self-manage their conditions.
Referrals for residential support are made through health and social work professionals and we provide mental health care homes, housing support and rehabilitation facilities.
