Mercat Moments is our brand-new series of community events designed to bring people together through stories, creativity and conversation. From inspiring author talks and lively book discussions to hands-on poetry and writing workshops, each event is a chance to pause, connect and discover something new.
Whether you’re a passionate reader, an aspiring writer, or have never picked up pen and paper before, Mercat Moments is your invitation to step into the bookshop, meet like-minded people and share in the magic of words.

We celebrated World Poetry Day, Saturday 21st March, with R S Kendle - our first Mercat Moments guest!
The group travelled through the VSA archives and touched on themes of hope, courage, and kindness through poetry in their creative writing workshop.
Thank you to everyone who came along and joined in, we also want to thank our Saturday volunteers for all their hard work.
And, a special thank you to R S Kendle for joining us and leading the activities!
