At the Heart of VSA

There are lots of different ways in which you can support the work of VSA by donating your time.

Sign up to volunteer today and start your volunteering journey with VSA to make a meaningful difference to the lives of vulnerable children and adults.

Volunteers are at the heart of VSA and we have a wide variety of opportunities available across our organisation. You could volunteer at one of our services; provide event support to our fundraising team or help us at our farm. We have something for everyone!

Individual Volunteering Programme and Mercat Bookshop

With nearly forty different services, we have a wide variety of volunteering opportunities available. Volunteering at one of the services requires a regular commitment ranging from 1-6 hours + per week, depending on the volunteering role.

All of our roles vary in levels of flexibility, experience, time commitment, and whether or not you want to volunteer directly with the vulnerable children and adults who need and use our services.

If you are interested in finding out more about our current volunteering opportunities then please email a member of our volunteering team who will then be in touch to discuss your application; get an understanding of your skills and talk about suitable opportunities.

As you might expect, we take our safeguarding duty of care very seriously as we work with vulnerable children and adults. Depending on your role, this might mean we do background checks (PVG) and ask for references.

Our Corporate Volunteering Programme

Each year we partner with a number of local, national and global corporate companies who generously donate their time, and money, towards a variety of projects that help to enhance our environments across our residential sites to benefit the people who need and use our services.

Due to the exceptionally high demand, our corporate volunteering opportunities are exclusively available to our strategic corporate partners.

Our Volunteers' Impact

Without the support of individuals, groups, corporate partners and many others who each year generously give their time, we would not be able to provide the vital services and support that we do to thousands of vulnerable people year after year.

“I am delighted to volunteer at VSA, if I didn’t I wouldn’t come. I used to volunteer a couple of days a week and help with all the day-to-day tasks as well as being there for the families to have a chat to. Now with the current pandemic, I still give everyone a call to check-in and support them as much as I can during this challenging period.”
