As a leading social care charity with over 150 years experience, we have always been at the forefront of providing vital care and support to vulnerable children and adults’ living across Aberdeen and beyond. We support people through some of the most challenging times they have ever experienced and we help them to take control of their lives for a brighter and better future.
Every day we change lives by supporting a person’s physical, emotional, mental and social wellbeing through a wide range of health and social care services, such as residential services and community outreach programmes.
We support vulnerable children and adults’ who are living with a mental health diagnosis, complex additional learning and support needs, addiction (drugs and alcohol), loneliness and isolation and are living in extreme poverty.
Despite the tremendous challenges that a child or an adult can face, it is amazing to see that by providing the right support, care, experiences, and opportunities how much it can change a life.
Our extraordinary work has always depended on the generosity of our amazing supporters; every day the work that we do provides you with an opportunity to make a difference and help shape a life for a better future.
Across all of the services we provide, we promote equality, inclusion, diversity and support for BAME communities.
VSA - delivering the best of care so that people can live the best of lives since 1870.
The charity is founded upon values that reflect a desire to engage with and listen to the people who need and use our services, volunteers, partners and staff:
People who are in need of our services and support will be at the heart of our policies, planning and work.
We will work to provide the best care to meet the needs of people who use our services.
We will embrace, promote, and foster partnerships to deliver our services in the most inclusive way for individuals in our care.
We will respect and value the people we work with - those who need and use our services, partner organisations, volunteers and staff - treating them with kindness and dignity.
VSA, like all charities, is governed by a Board of Trustees (non-executive directors).
The Board of Trustees, led by the Chair, work with VSA's senior leadership team to provide strategic direction and guidance to the charity, and ensure the charity is fulfilling its mission.
Every vulnerable child and adult deserve an opportunity to get the help, care and support they need to realise their dreams and reach their full potential.
We work to change and improve the lives of children, young people, families, adults and people in their later years in life. We do this by supporting people from birth to end of life across a wide range of social care services.
