The Mercat Bookshop is open Monday - Saturday from 10am - 3pm. Before you visit please check our Facebook pages for the most up-to-date information as we may close due to external factors, such as weather.
Our bookshop is right next door to our VSA offices at 38 Castle Street, Aberdeen, AB11 5YU. It is a 9 minute walk from the Bon Accord shopping centre and a 13 minute walk to Union Square and the bus and train stations.
We accept books, DVDs, CDs, vinyl's, and board games. Before you donate please ensure your items are in good condition (eg. no missing pages, missing game pieces, scratched etc) as we cannot accept these. We also cannot accept items such as dictionaries or text books.

You can donate small items by visiting our bookshop during our normal opening hours. For larger donations by car, please call ahead on 01224 212021 (Mon-Fri, 10am - 3pm) so our team are prepared for your arrival and can provide directions for parking.
Collections for larger donations can be arranged in advance, within the local area (ie. Aberdeen City). Please note, due to limited resources it may not always be possible to arrange a collection, although we will always try our best. For any enquiries related to collections, please contact us on 01224 212021 (Mon-Fri, 10am - 3pm).
