Friends for Life Club - ASN

Our Friends for Life Club provides children and young people living with additional support needs (ASN) a stimulating environment where they can build friendships through social interaction, learn new skills and build confidence.

Our Friends for Life Clubs (FFL) are designed to help children and young people living with an ASN the opportunity to flourish.

Children and young people living with an ASN may find it difficult interacting with peers in a mainstream club. Attending our FFL provides an opportunity to socially interact, hang out and have fun with other children and young people who also have an ASN.

Our specially trained staff, and volunteers, work with the young people attending the clubs to develop friendships; build new skills and take part in a wide range of fun and interactive activities.

Our clubs are categorised by age:

  • 6-11 years
  • 11-14 years
  • 14-18 years

Each club offers:

  • FUN and lots of it!
  • Interaction with new people of the same age
  • Learning to be independent and develop social skills
  • A variety of indoor and outdoor activities - including sports and art
  • Specially trained staff who can respond to the needs of club members

As your child gets older, the transition between each club is simple and stress-free. Your child would simply transfer with their friends to the next club where activities are more age/stage appropriate, allowing any friendships made to continue throughout life.

If your child is in receipt of an SDS budget, you can use this on this service. Please visit the SDS section on our website for further information.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we have paused our FFL clubs until it is safe to re-start.

Our team, however, are actively planning and putting in place a programme of safe, fun and exciting activities in preparation for when we can recommence this vital service. As part of this planning, we are reviewing the locations of our clubs.
