Meet our team - running in London and Chicago this October!

VSA's team of runners have been making their final preparations this week ahead of October's London Marathon and Chicago Marathon.

Once again, we are proudly represented by a team of runners taking part in the London Marathon on Sunday October 2nd - and this year we will also have runners at the Chicago Marathon a week later!

By running 26.2 miles along these world famous destinations, each runner will not only be achieving something incredible in one of the world's most sought after marathons, they will also be fundraising in aid of VSA and playing their part in changing the lives of vulnerable children and adults.

It promises to be a memorable and immensely proud month for everyone involved and VSA wish all of our runners the very best of luck.

You can follow our runners' live progress in a number of ways:

Kevin Forrest

Director of city based Forrest Training and a fantastic supporter of local charities, we are delighted to have Kevin on board - last month, his fundraising saw him try stand up comedy for the first time ever with a successful gig at Breakneck Comedy.

Kevin will be aiming to clinch an impressive third London Marathon finishers medal on Sunday.

Craig Donaldson

BP employee Craig has been an incredible supporter of VSA in recent years, previously running marathons in Ireland and Brighton with fundraising in aid of our mental health services.

He jumped at the chance to be part of our team in London, having applied for a space several times over the years in the public ballot.

Mike & Ruth Crawford

Mike and Ruth Crawford will be representing us by running 26.2 miles in Chicago!

The Chicago Marathon takes place on Sunday October 9th and we are absolutely delighted that both Mike and Ruth have chosen VSA as one of their charities to run in aid of.

Mike has recently been an amazing supporter of VSA, fundraising for our mental health services. Ruth ran the Chicago Marathon in 2018 and has 4 other marathons under her belt. This will be Mike's first full marathon in person after successfully completing the virtual edition last year.

Having previously worked in Chicago, this challenge will be extra special for Mike as he marks his 25th anniversary working for BP.

Chris Lamb

Chris will be taking on his first London Marathon, looking to add to his impressive medal collection - including finishing marathons in Edinburgh, Tokyo, Berlin and New York!

An employee of Westhill based Technip FMC, Chris will be cheered on this Sunday by his wife and 2 year old daughter.

Iain Cameron

Incredibly, this is "Iain Cam Marathon Man's" TWENTY THIRD marathon!

Iain is our third runner representing both BP and VSA, fundraising in aid of our mental health services.

Iain may be familiar from last year as he along with Mike Crawford ran across Aberdeen in the virtual edition of the London Marathon - which has since become a permanent fixture to coincide with the "live" event in the capital.

This will be Iain's first attempt at claiming that much sought after London Marathon finishers medal at The Mall finishing line.
