VSA and Apache Strengthen Partnership to Continue Support for Community Services

VSA, with the support of Apache North Sea, a subsidiary of Apache Corporation, is continuing to change the lives of vulnerable children and adults living in the North East of Scotland. Through the provision of vital social care services, VSA supports vulnerable children and adults to get the help, care, and support they need to realise their dreams and lead more independent lives.

Apache, through a mix of corporate donations and funds generated by its offshore workforce, has been a long-term supporter of VSA's services within the local community. Since 2018, over £200,000 has been donated to VSA's campaign to support the build of Abergeldie House, a specialist mental health facility, and to help cover Easter Anguston Farm's running costs during its closure as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, Apache is the title sponsor of VSA's 150th Anniversary Changing Lives fundraising ball which will be held on 6th November 2021 at Balmoral Castle.

Jillian Owen, Commercial, Communications and Public Affairs Manager for Apache, comments, "Apache prides itself in building lasting and affirmative relationships within the communities in which we operate to make a positive difference to vulnerable individuals and their families. By supporting VSA in many of their endeavours, we can help provide the people of Aberdeen vital support services where they need it. We are looking forward to our next project with VSA, the reforestation of Linn Moor Woods, which in turn will enhance learning and provide outdoor experiences to children and adults while encouraging conservation of the natural environment and local wildlife."

Jennifer Mitchell, Director of External Relations at VSA said: "We are incredibly grateful to Apache for their amazing support to VSA over the years and are delighted that they have chosen to continue their strategic partnership with us, allowing us to change lives of vulnerable children and adults living in Aberdeen. We are excited to have Apache's support to redevelop our woodland area next to Linn Moor School. This project will allow us to plant trees, restore the garden areas and create a sensory trail to help provide further support to the children and young people who attend Linn Moor School and live with complex and additional support needs. Thank you again for your amazing support, and we can't wait to continue our partnership."
