North East Organisations Invited to Raise A Cuppa (& Cake!)

In Celebration of VSA’s 153rd Birthday

A local charity is asking organisations across the North East to grab a cuppa and cake to toast its 153rd birthday. VSA, the social care charity supporting the people of Aberdeen & north-east Scotland, is asking businesses to get together throughout the month of March for its official ‘Birthday Tea Party’.

Holly Leiper, Head of Communications and Fundraising for VSA, says, “We are excited that our popular tea party launches next month on Friday, March 10th - the official birthday of VSA. This year will be our 153rd in which we have provided the best of care to the city of Aberdeen and the North East, changing so many lives of vulnerable children and adults.”

Holly continues, “We are asking businesses big and small to stop for a moment, get together and grab some cake and a cuppa to help us celebrate. It’s so easy to be part of our special day, anyone can join in the fun by hosting an office tea party any day in March and in the process, help us to raise vital funds in support of our local services. Our free digital party pack has everything you need to get your tea party started, including posters, invites, information on VSA, photo booth accessories and of course that all-important bunting!”

Greig Slatter, Corporate Business Development Manager for VSA, says, “We all know that now more than ever, it’s so important to regroup as a team. Many organisations are still adopting the hybrid working model so what better excuse than to get everyone together in-person for cake, coffee and to catch up? Ask your team to make a small donation in return for sweet treats and a celebratory lunch. In previous years some of our supporters have gone to amazing lengths with showstopper cakes which wouldn’t look out of place on ‘Bake Off’ to organisations who simply grabbed a packet of biscuits and a coffee for a short time out. Whether you want to take a well-earned break on a Friday lunchtime or set the team up for Monday Motivation with a little treat, fit it into a day and time that works for the team in the month, and you could even have more than one! We look forward to seeing everyone’s celebrations on social media, so please share your March get-togethers and use #vsateaparty or #vsabirthday so we can share our joint celebrations.”
