VSA is delighted to announce that Linn Moor Residential School has received a positive inspection report from His Majesty's Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) following a visit in May 2026.

The inspection team engaged with parents and carers, children and young people, as well as staff and school leadership, as part of a comprehensive evaluation of the school's performance.

HMIE awarded Linn Moor a rating of 'Good' in both:

• Learning, Teaching and Assessment
• Raising Attainment and Achievement

The report highlighted several key strengths across the school, including:

• The highly nurturing relationships established between staff, children, young people and their families.
• Strong partnership working that enables effective assessment and personalised learning.
• A broad range of learning opportunities both within the school and the wider community, helping young people develop valuable life skills such as cooking, travel training and independence.

Inspectors commented that children and young people feel safe, valued and cared for, creating an environment where they can engage positively in their learning and development.
