VSA Celebrates Staff Achievement, Learning and Excellence at Annual Graduation Ceremony

VSA proudly celebrated the achievements, dedication and talent of its workforce at its annual Graduation Ceremony, held at the Town House on 9 September.

The event brought together colleagues, friends and family members from across the charity to recognise staff commitment to achieving professional qualifications, apprenticeships and personal development milestones while continuing to deliver high-quality care and support across the North East of Scotland.

As one of Scotland's oldest and largest social care charities, VSA recognises that its people are at the heart of everything it does. This year's celebration highlighted the outstanding commitment of staff who have invested in their professional development to enhance the lives of those they support.

A total of 42 staff members were celebrated for their achievements in gaining nationally recognised qualifications through VSA's Qualification Scotland accredited Training Centre, including 27 colleagues who embarked on apprenticeships. With 99 learners currently studying towards a qualification through the VSA SVQ Centre, this demonstrates VSA's ongoing commitment to developing their workforce.

The qualifications achieved this year included Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs), Modern Apprenticeships, Higher National Certificates (HNCs) and Professional Development Awards (PDAs) across a range of health and social care disciplines.

VSA continues to invest significantly in workforce development through a comprehensive programme of learning opportunities, including specialist training in areas such as Palliative Care, Behaviour Support Strategies, Learning Disability and Neurodiversity. These programmes ensure colleagues have the skills, knowledge and confidence required to provide person-centred care that meets the highest professional standards.

Alex Busch, Chief Executive of VSA, said:

"Our Graduation Ceremony is one of the most inspiring moments in the VSA calendar. It gives us the opportunity to recognise the incredible dedication, professionalism and compassion demonstrated by our colleagues every day."

"Achieving qualifications while balancing the demands of a busy role is no small undertaking. We are immensely proud of every colleague who has invested in their development and continued to enhance the quality of support they provide."

"The success of VSA is built upon the knowledge, expertise and commitment of our people. By investing in learning and development, we are investing in the future of the individuals we support, our services and our communities."
