VSA's 2023 Best of Care Ball Raises Over £120,000

VSA's Annual Best of Care Ball Raises Over £120,000

VSA, the social care charity supporting the people of Aberdeen & north-east Scotland, held its Best of Care ball at the P&J Live on Friday 3rd November 2023.

The ‘A Whole New World’ themed winter ball, supported by principal sponsor Ithaca Energy, treated guests to an evening of Arabian nights-inspired entertainment with fantastic food, entertainment from a local dance troupe from Danscentre and popular party band Mad Hen.

The evening was hosted by Scottish actor Jordan Young who stars in River City and Scots Squad, who also held the live auction proceedings. 350 guests danced the night away and helped raised over £120,000.

The evening also included a silent auction, heads and tails, a ‘3-wishes’ tombola and the chance to win a £5,000 white gold and diamond necklace, kindly donated by Finnies the Jeweller.

Sue Freeth, CEO of VSA, expressed her appreciation, stating, "Our annual ball is one of our major fundraising events and enables us to continue to provide the best of care to the city of Aberdeen and the North East, changing the lives of many vulnerable children and adults. We are thrilled with the funds raised as a result of the event, kindly supported by Ithaca Energy, and would like to extend our thanks to everyone involved – from our board and team to our corporate supporters, guests and volunteers. It really is a huge, combined effort which we work on across the year.”

Sue continues, “VSA remains committed to enhancing the lives of individuals in Aberdeen and beyond, and these vital funds raised will support the organisation's ongoing dedication to supporting the most vulnerable people on our doorstep.”

Alan Bruce, CEO of Ithaca Energy and principal ball sponsor, says, “It was a great honour to sponsor the VSA Ball and provide support to help deliver the best of care, to ensure vulnerable local people can live their best lives. The generosity of everyone who participated was incredible and it will make a huge impact across all VSA’s services. A special thanks to the VSA team for making it a night to remember.”
