VSA are delighted to once again be represented at the UK's most popular Marathons this Spring, including the races at Brighton, London and Edinburgh!
Our six runners will join thousands of participants across the UK - and further afield - to take on the experience of running 26.2 miles and earn that all important medal!
Not only will our team set out to achieve something incredible, their fundraising in aid of VSA will play a vital part in changing the lives of vulnerable children and adults.
Our 2026 team:
- Sophie Reid (Brighton Marathon)
- Rachel Clews (London Marathon)
- Tori Anderson (London Marathon)
- Dave Anderson (London Marathon)
- Jamie Croan (London Marathon)
- Jordan MacLeod (Edinburgh Marathon)
How to follow VSA's Marathon team this April and May...
Our very own Sophie, who works for VSA as a Mental Health Support Worker, is taking on her first ever marathon!
"I've not been running for long but saw the Brighton Marathon as a motivator to become a bit healthier whilst also raising money for a vital cause, enabling VSA to continue to provide the support to our residents and better aid their recovery and independence."
Sophie added: "I would say I am most looking forward to pushing myself and taking on such a big challenge. I'm also looking forward to the atmosphere".
Rachel is also part of our staff here at VSA and is also taking on her very first Marathon.
Over the past few years, she has taken part in the Run Balmoral events for VSA and now is going for it - 26.2 miles in London!
"I am looking forward to the epic experience from the day itself, getting to the start line and taking each step on the course", she says. "I am also looking forward to high-fives with the crowd and getting over that finish line, thinking of all those that VSA support who benefit from our fundraising."
Dave has previously ran the Edinburgh and Loch Ness Marathons and will now be taking on London for the first time.
"I’ve been running and active as long as I can remember but started running more seriously in the last 4 years to take on Edinburgh Marathon in 2022", says Dave, who is a Regional Manager at Westhill based Claxton Engineering.
"I’m looking forward to running London. It’s one of my favourite cities, the marathon is iconic and it’s great have the opportunity to support VSA. My mum ran a few marathons including London so it will be special walking a mile (or 26!) in her shoes."
Dave will be joined by his wife Tori, running the London Marathon together!
Mechanical Engineer Tori started running in 2019 when she spent some time living in Singapore and has stuck with it ever since!
"Getting the opportunity run in the London Marathon 2026 hasn’t quite sunk in yet and I feel very lucky to be able to take on the challenge in one of my favourite cities for such a worthy cause", says Tori, who works at Ithaca Energy.
Like Dave, Tori has ran the Edinburgh and Loch Ness Marathons previously.
Ithaca Energy employee Jamie has never ran a marathon - until now!
"I’ve been running for a couple of years now and have completed a few half marathons, but I’ve never taken on the challenge of a full marathon — it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. Last year I was one of the spectators cheering on a friend at the London Marathon, and the crowds and atmosphere on the day were fantastic. Seeing it all first hand made me want to be part of it myself."
"I’m really looking forward to experiencing the iconic atmosphere of the marathon and taking on the challenge of 26.2 miles while raising funds for VSA, supporting the incredible work they do."
"Thank you to everyone who has supported my training and fundraising so far — I really appreciate all the encouragement and support!"
Jordan completes our line up, running the Edinburgh Marathon in May.
Plumbing & Heating Engineer Jordan has been training for his first marathon this Spring - he is looking to get round those 26.2 miles in style and set the bar for future "PB's"!
"I am looking forward to have completed my first marathon for a good cause and hopefully in a good time!", he says.
Good luck Jordan!
