Relief Support Worker (Waking Nights) - Linn Moor Campus (Peterculter)

VSA is the North East of Scotland’s leading social care charity focused on providing the best care and support to enable our community to fulfil its potential.  We are currently seeking a Relief Support Worker (Waking Nights) to join our dedicated and enthusiastic staff team at our Linn Moor campus.  You will help to provide a quality service to meet the needs of our students with additional support needs, supporting the night time care that is provided within the residential settings.

An SCQF Level 6 (or equivalent) and an HNC in Social Care would be beneficial but it is not essential at this stage (although you must be willing to work towards this or the Level 9 Residential Childcare Qualification). You must possess some experience of working with children and/or young adults with autism / learning difficulties and have the ability to engage/relate to them through effective communication skills and the ability to deal with complex and challenging behaviour.

 Working in our relief pool offers you the flexibility to pick up shifts to work around other commitments you may have.  If you want to help us to change lives, we would love to hear from you. Support Worker (Adult Service - Life Skills) - Linn Moor Campus (Peterculter)

Are you passionate about supporting life-long learning and helping others to reach their potential?  If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join our incredible staff team at Linn Moor.

VSA's Rowanlea House Adult Service, situated on the Linn Moor Campus near Peterculter, provides an intensive housing and support service for young adults with autism that focuses on the development of meaningful life skills and personal fulfilment.  VSA believe that young adults with complex needs should continue learning after they leave formal education. We provide a range of opportunities for the young adults in the service and use an education room at our newly refurbished Easter Anguston farm, where young adults can take part in arts and crafts workshops, log cutting, and furniture renovation among other activities.  Our dedicated and enthusiastic team of Support Workers (Life Skills Practitioners - Adult Service), provide the necessary support and care to ensure this happens and we would love to hear from you if you want to join our team.

We are looking to recruit people that will both support and work with the adults within their home, their work placements and help them to develop interests and hobbies. We also want people that can be innovative and help us to embed our approach in practice within this new service. A variety of hours are available up to full time working, you will be expected to work on a rolling rota which will include late shifts and weekend working.

It is helpful if you have experience of working with children / adults with autism and complex needs and be confident in working alongside them and as part of a staff team. However this is not essential as we will provide full training and support.
