Support Worker (Part-Time) Westerton

VSA's Westerton Crescent service was opened in February 1995. It is purpose-built to provide accommodation for nine adults with a history of severe and enduring mental health problems. They may also have a physical disability and require daily support from the staff team to motivate, empower and promote their self-esteem, while maintaining as much of their independence as possible. 

We currently require a part-time Support Worker, 28 hours per week, where you will provide a professional caring and effective service to our service users. For this post you will work a 4 week rolling rota, 4x7hrs shifts, sleep in duties and alternative weekends. Any prior experience would be welcome but is not essential as full on the job training will be provided.  You must however be willing to undertake an SCQF Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare (or equivalent) if you do not already hold one. . 

If you have a genuine interest to work within social care or are simply seeking a change of direction we would welcome your application.

Support Worker -Adult and Community Services (Peripatetic)

VSA are looking for caring and compassionate individuals to work within our Adult  and Community Services, working across all our homes. You will join our dedicated teams of Support Workers, providing a professional, caring and effective service to those within our care. 

Working 39 hours full time 5 days from 7 working days across all Adult and Community services predominantly Older people services, mixture of late and early shifts including weekends.

Any prior experience of working with older adults or adults  with mental health problems and learning difficulties would be welcome but is not essential as full on the job training will be provided. You must however be willing to undertake an SCQF Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare if you do not already hold one.

Team Leader - Adult & Community

Are you passionate about delivering the best of care to change the lives of those we are caring for?  If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join our Older People Services:

x1 Vacancy  as part of our Adult & Community Directorate.

Working in a leadership role, you will be responsible for providing flexible, additional cover in support of development activities, and absences including annual leave and sickness absence. You will be a key part of the teams in our services, contributing to the provision of an effective and professional service to meet the needs of our service users whilst monitoring the effective use of staffing resources.

To be considered, you must hold an SCQF Level 6 in Health and Social Care and be willing to undertake an SCQF Level 7 along with a Professional Development Award in Supervision, if you do not already hold it.  You will have previous experience in the provision of care and of co-ordinating activities within the workplace and a genuine enthusiasm to help enhance the lives of our residents.  In addition, you will have a working knowledge of the SSSC Codes of Practice, have the ability to work on your own initiative and be a good communicator and organiser.  You will work to a rolling rota over 7 days which will include a mixture of early shifts, late shifts and weekends as well as nights, also on a rota basis.

Waking Nights Support Worker - Westerton Crescent

We currently require a part-time Waking Nights Support Worker (17.5 hours per week) to join our dedicated team of support staff who work tirelessly to deliver the best of care to those within the service.  In this rewarding role, you will provide a professional, caring and effective service to our service users.  You will be part of a 4 week rolling rota working 10pm-8am, working an average of 2 nights per week and 1 weekend in 3.  Any prior experience would be welcome but is not essential as full on the job training will be provided.  You must however be willing to undertake an SCQF Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare (or equivalent) if you do not already hold one.

Relief Support Worker - Ruthrieston House

Are you passionate about helping us provide the best of care to change the lives for those using our services?  If so, we would love to hear from you.

We are currently recruiting Relief Support Workers to work at our Ruthrieston House facility, working on an ad-hoc basis covering a mixture of early and late shifts.  As a team member you will be working alongside our permanent staff and you will similarly provide a professional, caring and effective service to our service users. 

Any prior experience would be welcome but is not essential as full on the job training will be provided.  We welcome applications from those who would like the opportunity to work within social care or those simply seeking a change of direction.

We also operate services in different locations across the city and by joining our relief pool; you will have access to a range of shifts to fit around other commitments. 

Successful applicants will be required to join the PVG Scheme; however VSA will cover any associated costs.
