Support Worker - Millbank House (Part-time)

Millbank House provides long-term residential placements and 24-hour support for 18 adults with on-going and enduring mental health problems.

An opportunity has arisen as part of our Mental Health Service at Millbank House for a Part-time Support Worker. 

Working to a 4 week rolling rota you will work 28 hours per week working 4 shifts over 7 days, with a mixture of early and late shifts including every 2nd weekend. 

This rewarding role involves providing a professional and caring service to our service users and although prior experience would be welcome, it is not essential as full training on the job will be provided.  We welcome applications from those working in social care currently as well as those who are seeking a change of direction and are passionate about making a difference to people’s lives.

Relief Cafe Assistant - Easter Anguston Farm (Peterculter)

An opportunity has arisen for Relief Cafe Assistants to work at Easter Anguston Farm in Peterculter. Working mainly at weekends, we are looking for friendly and enthusiastic individuals to join our team.

As a Cafe Assistant you will provide a quality and friendly catering and front of house service to customers and visitors to the farm alike throughout the summer opening times and at quieter periods potentially working with the trainees on some of the farm activities.  As a Cafe Assistant you will be required to:

  • Provide a professional, friendly and efficient front of house service to all customers and visitors including schools and corporate groups visiting Easter Anguston Farm.
  • Be prepared where needed to work with trainees with learning difficulties attending the farm as part of a group activity on various activities
  • Prepare and serve a range of light snacks, soups, cakes, hot and cold drinks etc to all visitors
  • Contribute to effective planning and re ordering by taking an active role in the daily running including inventory, basic stock control etc
  • Commercial till sales and credit card transactions in both Café and adjoining Shop as required
  • Set and clear tables in the café and garden area as required
  • Assist with kitchen duties, washing up, keeping machinery clean and tidy etc
  • Help maintain the cleanliness of the general café building internal facilities including cleaning cafe floors if need, recharging dispensers etc
  • Be aware of health and safety in the work environment at all times and our duty of care to the attending trainees
  • Any other reasonable duties within the post-holders capabilities

Support Worker (Full-Time) Ruthrieston House

Are you passionate about helping us provide the best of care to change the lives for those using our services?  Are you interested in working within close proximity to Aberdeen city centre for an organisation that takes pride in supporting the professional development of its staff?  If so, we would love to hear from you.

We are currently recruiting a Support Worker at our Ruthrieston House facility for 39 hours per week.

Joining our dynamic team, you will provide a professional, caring and effective service to our service users to ensure they receive the best of care.  In return, you will be provided with extensive training opportunities and as an accredited SVQ centre, we can provide support to help gain qualifications. 

Any prior experience would be welcome but is not essential as full on the job training will be provided.  You must however be willing to undertake an SCQF Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare (or equivalent) if you do not already hold one.  This post will involve working to a rota include a mixture of early and late shifts.

Occupational Health Nurse & Wellbeing Co ordinator

VSA are currently seeking an Occupational Health Nurse & Wellbeing Co ordinator to join our HSE Team on a part time basis, based in our head office -  Castle Street, Aberdeen.

We are looking for a registered nurse who will be able to provide occupational health evaluation and assessment in support of managing workplace attendance. 

You will support the development and delivery of a Wellbeing strategy, looking at the many aspects of supporting a physically, emotionally and mental healthy workplace and workforce.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years experience in the delivery of occupational health service.

Cook

We are currently seeking a Cook on a staff basis at our Millbank House facility to provide a variety of healthy meals for our service users.  Working 20 hours per week (Monday-Friday 9.00am - 1.00pm), we are looking for individuals with prior experience of working in a catering environment to specified standards who has an awareness of health and safety regulations, including food hygiene and who is skilled in the preparation of planning and preparing nutritionally balanced meals with the ability to work to deadlines.  Any relevant catering/food hygiene/health and safety qualifications would be beneficial but are not essential.

Team Leader - Westerton

Are you an experienced social care professional looking for career progression? This could be the opportunity for you.

VSA's Westerton Crescent service was opened in February 1995. It is purpose-built to provide accommodation for nine adults with a history of severe and enduring mental health problems. They may also have a physical disability and require daily support from the staff team to motivate, empower and promote their self-esteem, while maintaining as much of their independence as possible.  As we strive to continue to provide the best of care to our residents we are now seeking a Team Leader to join our dynamic team.

This is a key role within the service where you will co-ordinate and contribute to the provision of an effective and professional service to meet the needs of our service users whilst monitoring the effective use of staffing resources. To be considered, you should possess an SCQF Level 7 in Social Services and Healthcare (or other comparable qualification). You will have previous experience in the provision of care and of co-ordinating activities within the workplace. In addition, you will have a working knowledge of the SSSC Codes of Practice, have the ability to work on your own initiative and be a good communicator and organiser. You will work to a rolling rota over 7 days which will include a mixture of early shifts, late shifts and weekends.
