Support Worker, Cloverfield Grove (Bucksburn)

Are you passionate about helping us provide the best of care for those using our services?

We are currently recruiting Support Workers at our Cloverfield Grove service based in Bucksburn.  Joining our dynamic team, you will provide a professional, caring and effective service to our service users to ensure they receive the best of care.  In return, you will be provided with extensive training opportunities and as an accredited SVQ centre, we can provide support to help gain qualifications. 

Any prior experience would be welcome but is not essential as full on the job training will be provided.  You must however be willing to undertake an SCQF Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare (or equivalent) if you do not already hold one.  These posts will involve working to a rota over 7 days and include a mixture of early and late shifts.  We welcome applications from those who would like the opportunity to work within social care or those simply seeking a change of direction.

In return, you will be provided with extensive training opportunities and as an accredited SVQ centre, we can provide support to help gain qualifications.

We have an exciting opportunity for an ASN specialist teacher to join our Peterculter Campus at a pivotal time in the school’s development.  We are offering the chance to be at the forefront of shaping the school‘s curriculum in an ethos of continual improvement and aspiration.  

Our School:            

Linn Moor Residential School has a long history of providing specialist residential care and education for children and young adults with autism, related conditions such as social and communication difficulties, and learning disabilities. Set within a scenic rural environment in Royal Deeside, and within easy reach of all the facilities of Aberdeen; we equip children and young people with the skills they need to live exceptional lives. We promote learning opportunities in a range of resource rich environments where people are supported and encouraged to develop transferrable academic, vocational and life skills. 

Our highly skilled education team work collaboratively alongside our equally talented care team to provide a comprehensive, holistic education program for our children and young people.  Using the principles of Getting it Right for Every Child and the Curriculum for Excellence our children and young people are supported through their education in a way that embraces their complex and at times challenging behaviour.  To provide an outstanding team we ensure our staff are trained and supported in a range of approaches, including: Understanding Autism and its impact, Total communication (TEACCH, PECS & Makaton & the use of technology), and BSS (Behavioural Support Strategies).  We use these tools and approaches among others to support and educate the children and young people living at Linn Moor enabling them to engage in a programme of continual learning.

Relief Support Workers, Craigton Grove

Are you looking for a rewarding job that can fit around your other commitments?  If so, this could be the job for you.

VSA is currently seeking additional relief workers to support our service users at our Craigton Grove Housing Support/Care at Home service for adults with learning disabilities. The service supports five separate buildings with a total of 15 tenants with two living in the south side of Aberdeen city.  All properties are situated in Peterculter, within close vicinity of each other and although a number of the tenants are also trainees at Easter Anguston Farm, this is not a requirement of the housing.

Any prior experience of working with adults with learning difficulties would be welcome but is not essential as full on the job training will be provided.  A genuine passion for caring for others is essential as we strive to change lives of those within our care.

Cook / Baker, Easter Anguston Farm

Our café at Easter Anguston Farm, just west of Peterculter, helps trainees develop their social and vocational skills in an idyllic countryside environment. We encourage the public to come along and enjoy a warm welcome, the great atmosphere, superb food and excellent coffee, and there is also a play park and ice cream freezer to keep the younger members of the family occupied. 

We are currently seeking a Cook/Baker to join our team at the café on a part-time basis. Flexible working hours can be supported but some weekend work will be required.  You must be proficient in baking a range of products which we can sell to our customers, together with some more general cooking experience.  This represents an exciting opportunity to work in a fantastic environment as part of our dedicated team at the farm.

Support Worker, Easter Anguston Farm

We are currently seeking a Support Worker to deliver 1:1 support to an individual service user at our Easter Anguston Farm service west of Peterculter.  Working on a part-time basis, 21 hours per week, you will fulfil the role of key worker for an individual service user to enable them to successfully and safely participate in the activities and tasks of the horticultural group on the farm, according to their recognised and agreed needs.

Experience of training and working with learning disabilities, including required record keeping and documentation, is required as is an SCQF Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare.

HR Business Partner (*Maternity Cover*)

We are currently seeking a proven HR generalist to join our enthusiastic and motivated team.  Working in a maternity cover role for a period of 12 months, you will be responsible for managing all HR related issues pertaining to our Linn Moor Campus based near Peterculter.  The role will require you to split your time between the campus and our head office at Castle Street and as such, a driving licence would be preferable.

This is a diverse and challenging role covering a broad spectrum of HR matters, supporting the management team at the Linn Moor campus to effectively manage our dedicated staff team.  You will relish the demands of an HR generalist role and must be pro-active and able to work with a large degree of autonomy.  You must possess excellent inter-personal skills, a flexible approach to work and the ability to work well within a team environment.
