Recruitment Supervisor (Fixed Term)

Our dedicated and pro-active recruitment team plays a key role in ensuring we attract the best talent to help us deliver on this mission across the full breadth of our services.

We are currently seeking an experienced recruitment professional for the role of Recruitment Supervisor, initially on a fixed term basis (12 month duration) to cover an internal secondment of the current incumbent. The role is extremely varied and rewarding, ensuring that the team delivers the highest level of support to all our services in the recruitment of staff.  You will be involved in both strategic and operational elements of the recruitment operation, working as part of the wider HR and Training department, and will play a hands-on role in leading, managing and inspiring the recruitment team.

You must possess experience in a fast-paced recruitment environment, together with previous staff management and supervisory skills. A flexible approach to work is essential as is the ability to successfully manage multiple competing tasks, ensuring that the team is fully supported throughout.

Assistant Accountant

VSA is Aberdeen's major social care charity with a focus on changing the lives of some of the most vulnerable groups across the city.  Our finance department, based at Castle Street in the heart of the city, provides a comprehensive accounting service to support the full breadth of services that we operate.

We are now seeking an enthusiastic, driven and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our professional and friendly team.  In this key role, you will be responsible for supporting the Management Accountant, Finance Manager and ultimately the Director of Finance with the monthly management accounts preparation, variance analysis and annual Budget preparation.  You must possess sound inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate well with staff at all levels.  Previous relevant experience of working within a finance environment in either the private, public or third sector is required and you should  possess a recognised professional accountancy qualification (qualified or part-qualified).

Support Worker (Mental Health)

VSA's Mental Wellbeing services provide a range of individualised person-centred support which promote independence, peer support and social integration.  The recovery model is at the heart of our work and we ensure people receive the required support to make sure they are able to build skills that allow them to self-manage their conditions.  

We are currently recruiting a Support Worker to work on a peripatetic basis across our mental health services.  Working an average of 39 hours per week, you will provide a professional, caring and effective service to our service users and will spend time in different services according to need.  You will work an average of 5 shifts each week, including a mix of early and late shifts and some sleepovers and will work two weekends in three.

Support Worker, Broomhill Park

Based in the west end of Aberdeen, Broomhill Park offers 42 flats, including four double flats. We also have a guest flat that can be booked so that family and friends can come to visit. Broomhill has a lovely enclosed courtyard garden that tenants and their guests are encouraged to make use of.  Our dedicated team of Support Workers provide outstanding care and support to the residents and we are currently seeking to add to our team.

As part of our front-line care workforce, you will provide a professional, caring and effective service to those within our care.  In return, you will be provided with extensive training opportunities and as an accredited SVQ centre, we can provide support to help gain qualifications. Working 28 hours per week across a 7 day rota (for the day post) or 20-30 hours per week (for the night post), you will be joining a supportive team who are passionate about positively changing the lives of those within our care.  Prior experience is welcome but consideration will also be given to those looking to join the social care sector, who posses our shared values of empathy and care for others.

Catering Assistant, Crosby House

We are looking for a part-time Catering Assistant to work for 20 - 22 hours per week, working across a 7 day rota, at Crosby House.  In this role, you will provide support and assistance in the kitchen and dining room and carry out some basic housekeeping tasks. Aditional Support Needs Adviser

The Additional Support Needs Advisory Project (ASNAP) supports staff from a variety of settings including,  nurseries, playgroups and after school clubs to facilitate the inclusion of children who need additional support within that environment, ensuring best outcomes for individual children.

As an ASNAP Advisor you will be responsible for making improvement to practice through observations and assessments, mentoring and supporting staff, delivering staff training to implement strategies for children and young people with Additional Support Needs as well as writing reports.

You should ideally hold an SVQ Level III in Play-work, Childcare (or equivalent), or have the willingness and ability to attain one. However, you must have practical experience of working with children and young people with multiple support needs, and have an awareness of issues regarding child development and children’s needs.  A natural team player coupled with good interpersonal and organisational skills, you will be an effective communicator with the ability to manage challenging behaviour.  This is a permanent post with VSA, working 20 hours per week Monday to Friday. You will also be required to organise and work in the Under 8’s Playscheme for children with additional Support Needs during identified school holiday periods.
