Relief Support Worker (Waking Nights) - Linn Moor Campus (Peterculter)
VSA is currently looking for caring, considerate and motivated individuals to join our Night Shift Relief Pool at our Linn Moor Campus (Peterculter). You will help to provide a quality service to meet the needs of our students with additional support needs, supporting the night time care that is provided within the residential settings.
Linn Moor Campus is a unique multi-generational approach for individuals with learning disabilities and other additional support needs. With recognition for our pioneering work with people with autism, our focus is on the development of meaningful life skills through an ordinary life approach and aspirational achievements for our children and young people, promoting personal fulfilment that will continue into adulthood. Key to our ability to deliver for our Service Users is ensuring that we have a clear intention and strategy, supported and delivered by our committed and talented staff.
As a team member you will be working alongside our permanent staff and you will similarly provide a professional, caring and effective service to our service users. Any prior experience would be welcome but is not essential as full on the job training will be provided.
An SVQ Level III and an HNC in Social Care would be beneficial but it is not essential at this stage (although you must be willing to work towards this or the Level 9 Residential Childcare Qualification). Ideally you should have some experience of working with children and/or young adults with autism / learning difficulties and have the ability to engage/relate to them through effective communication skills and the ability to deal with complex and challenging behaviour. Joining our relief pool provides an excellent opportunity to develop your practical skills in the care sector and to gain valuable experience.
We also operate services in different locations across the city and by joining our relief pool; you will have access to a range of shifts to fit around other commitments.
In return for your hard work, commitment and positive approach, not only will you receive a huge amount of job satisfaction, we also offer a competitive hourly rate, paid holidays and paid training days. VSA also operate a bus service that can take you to and from our Linn Moor Campus at scheduled times.
Successful applicants will be required to join the PVG Scheme; however VSA will cover any associated costs.
If you would like to join our fantastic team and lead the way in transforming lives and providing the best of care, please complete an online application form or for more information on this opportunity please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
