Linn Moor provides a person-centred approach to managing behaviour, where individual need is the driving factor.
Our focus is always proactive; we look at behaviour as a barrier to learning, where, successful support strategies will allow the individual a greater opportunity to flourish. Through on-going assessment and evaluation, young people are provided with behaviour support plans which are tailored to their specific needs at any given time. We combine this process of assessment and evaluation with input from a range of external professionals. Individuals attending Linn Moor are supported to develop coping strategies for many of the issues affecting their ability to learn and socially integrate effectively.
Many of our staff have undergone training in approaches such as IABA (Institute of Applied Behavioural Analysis), TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children) and PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System). All of our frontline staff have been trained and assessed in Behavioural Support Strategies giving them the tools they require to support people effectively.
