Opportunities

Help us to provide the “Best of Care”. Join our Board of Trustees.

Established in 1870 VSA is a leading social care charity in the UK with a firm commitment to delivering the best of care to the most vulnerable of people living in Aberdeen. Since the charity was first established we have helped thousands of people and their families across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Today VSA provides support and services to people of all ages across four core areas: Children and Families; Adult and Community; Education and Learning; and Carers Support.

The VSA Trustees have overall responsibility for the work we do. They make sure we fulfil our legal requirements, that we have a clear set of goals and are doing what we were set up to do. Our Trustees come from all walks of life, sharing their skills and knowledge in a voluntary capacity and we are currently looking to augment our board.

Our Trustees attend the following on a quarterly basis at our Castle Street office:

  • Services Committee meetings
  • Corporate Services Committee meetings
  • Board meetings

If you share our passion for helping some of the most vulnerable groups across Aberdeen to receive the “best of care”, we would love to hear from you. You should possess enthusiasm for our work together with expertise in your professional field and previous governance experience.

In return, VSA will provide you with a forum to network and the opportunity to share your skills, knowledge and experience to make a positive impact in the Aberdeen community.

For informal queries, or to request further details on the role as a Trustee with VSA, please contact the Head of the Office of the Chief Executive in the first instance. Applications should take the form of a CV and covering letter submitted to the Head of the Office of the Chief Executive - wendy.oneill@vsa.org.uk.
