Your support, and the support of others, help VSA and the people who benefit from our services by affording us the opportunity to give vulnerable children and adults in the North East, the skills, opportunities, experiences, and environments they need to realise their dreams and lead more independent and integrated lives.
As we support people from birth to end of life we have a wide range of services or projects you can donate to. If you would like your donation restricted towards a particular area just let us know. It is also really important that we receive unrestricted donations. This enables us to put your donation towards the greatest need for vulnerable people.
We are proud to be able to say that 98p in every pound generated in support of VSA is spent on direct charitable activities. By supporting us, you can help make a real difference and will change a child's life or an adult's life.
As a registered Scottish Charity you can find us on OSCR by searching our registration number SC012950. You can do this for any Scottish charity and you will be able to see how much of your donation will go towards charitable work and how much goes towards covering the administration costs of running the charity.
Our organisation was founded through philanthropy in 1870. Back then, two people had a vision to transform the lives of the poor and vulnerable by encouraging wealthier people, and businesses, in the city to come together to help drive social change.
You too can have the power to transform lives through social change - a gift that lasts for generations.
We work with corporate partners to develop meaningful relationships to create a shared vision that is aligned to your company's ESG goals.
Together, we have the power to drive forward social change and make a real difference to people's lives.
Raising money for VSA will ensure we continue to provide essential services. If you would like to do your own fundraising in aid of VSA then please get in touch with us. We'd love to hear from you!
The most powerful gift you can give is one that has the ability to change the lives of vulnerable children and adults. To know that your kindness will live on and continue to help people is a timeless legacy.
Let the memory of your loved one live on; come together with family and friends to share stories, memories and photographs in a virtual place while raising funds in their memory for VSA. Celebrate and honour their life through the gift of giving.
"To anyone else considering a challenge like this, the most important aspect is that through your efforts, with support from friends and family, you will help VSA to change lives in Aberdeen”
We have been caring for and supporting children and adults for more than 150 years.
Today, we operate nearly 40 services in communities, across Aberdeen, offering a mix of residential care and community-based services. In 2019/20 we helped to change the lives of over 20,000 children, young people, families and adults.
This was only possible with thanks to your support.
During 2020, your donations enabled us to help vulnerable people who, now more than ever, need our help as a result of the ongoing coronavirus.
Could help provide a fuel grant to a family living in poverty
Could help provide 21hrs of school-based mental health counselling to a child or young person who needs emotional help and support
Could help provide 53 hrs of care to support vulnerable adults living in their own homes, helping them to maintain independence
Could help purchase new education sensory equipment for children with complex and additional support needs at Linn Moor School
Could help fund a one year trainee placement at Easter Anguston Farm for an adult with learning disabilities
Could help refurbish or establish a new service so that we can support more vulnerable people
Making a donation to our work couldn't be easier, you can either:
Don't forget to Gift Aid your donation!
Gift Aid is a government initiative that allows donations given to charity to be tax-effective. Gift Aid is not claimed unless we have your permission. You can give your permission by completing our Gift Aid declaration form. Once completed we can claim the tax back on your donation.
This means that a £10 donation will be worth £12.50 and for every £50 gift, we will actually receive £62.50.
For the latest information and guidelines on Gift Aid please visit HMRC https://www.gov.uk/donating-to...
If you're donating online, Gift Aid will be one of the questions we will ask you, however, if you are a UK Tax Payer and you are planning to donate via bank transfer or by sending a cheque please download our gift aid declaration form. Once completed please send with your cheque or send back to us electronically at fundraising@vsa.org.uk
