Things To Do and See
Please note the car park locked at 4:15 pm each day.
Our opening hours are: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday to Sunday
Stick Man Trail
We're branching out! Come down and visit our fun-filled activity trail featuring popular picture book character Stick Man, which is now open at Easter Anguston.
The self-guided trail is open year-round and is aimed at encouraging children aged 3-7 to get outdoors and explore the natural world and find out how things grow. If you want to ‘twig’ how much fun the trails can be, then visit us during opening hours.
We are one of a very select group of city farms, community gardens and care farms in the UK that have been chosen to host a Stick Man trail, which has been created by Social Farms & Gardens, the UK wide charity supporting communities farm, garden and grow together.
The Stick Man trail (installed thanks to the support of Magic Light Pictures) is based on the much-loved Stick Man picture book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.
Our café greatly helps trainees develop their social and vocational skills. We encourage the public to come along and enjoy a warm welcome, the great atmosphere, superb food and excellent coffee, and there is always the play park and ice cream freezer to keep the younger members of the family occupied, too. You can contact our café directly on 01224 739948.
We kindly ask visitors for their support by not bringing their own food and drink to the farm. For sunny days we can offer a picnic-style lunch which can be purchased from the café, customers are welcome to borrow one of our picnic rugs to enjoy your food outside. This will allow us to continue to maintain a free admission policy for our wonderful facility; All we ask is a donation.
We thank you for your co-operation.
Enchanted Fairy Wood - Open Saturday and Sunday 10:30 am-3:30 pm
Carefully working with the environment and minimising any damage to the trees, the previously underutilised Walnut Wood became a stunning visitor attraction. Come and see the fairy café, fairy bank, art gallery, fairy garden centre and much more. This is a great attraction for everyone.
Trainees are supported to staff, stock and run the farm shop. The public can purchase a range of products and gifts. This offers excellent confidence-building and social opportunities for the trainees and some of the goods available for sale in the shop are used in the café, too.
Pick Your Own Fruit - currently closed
We are very proud to be a pick your own fruit farm, which is hugely popular every year. We offer strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and redcurrants. Picking fruit is great fun for the whole family – come along and make a day of it!
We grow a wide range of plants from seed, which forms an important part of the training programme. The trainees tend these plants daily to ensure they reach your garden in peak condition. Come along and congratulate them on all their hard work.
Children’s Play Area
Our play area has recently been improved and expanded and we are always placing fun new interactive activates around the site. Make a game of it: how many can your little ones find?
Nature Trails and Woodland Walks
Who wouldn’t enjoy a scenic walk in the picturesque Royal Deeside? We have miles of well-kept walking paths around our site and you can often see wildlife in the fields or woodland. If you’re lucky you might even catch a glimpse of one of the local badgers or a family of deer. Our trainees help to make the interactive activities that are dotted along our walks: how many will you find?
