School Based Counselling

School based counselling services offer pupils 1:1 sessions to cope with a range of emotional issues ranging from bullying to parental separation.

All information shared within the sessions is confidential unless the counsellor feels that the young person is at risk.

Young people (over the age of 12 years) can access the service themselves or with support of their guidance teacher, parents and carers.

VSA in partnership with Aberdeen City Council offers school based counselling services at the following sites:

Northfield Academy 
The counselling service is secondary school-based but referrals may be considered for children transitioning from feeder primaries - please discuss individual requests with the counsellor.
