Specialised After School and Holiday Club

This is a specialised after school and holiday club that caters for children with additional support needs to allow their parents or carers the ability to work or return to education. Children attending our clubs will have access to a range of stimulating and fun activities that will ensure they have a great time.

We cater for eight children and young people from 5 to 18 years old. The club operates Monday to Friday during the school term and six weeks over the holidays. Staffing levels are one staff member to two children, however there is a limited provision that can be put in place to accommodate those children requiring 1:1 staffing.

The equipment provided is personal to each child’s individual needs and will extend and expand the child’s skills and knowledge. Although the club has good links with Orchard Brae, Mile End and Bucksburn schools, transport is not provided but may be arranged under certain circumstances.

Venue: Orchard Brae School during term time and Heathryburn School during summer holidays
Staffing Ratio: Five staff to eight children/young people
Club Times: 3.00pm–5.30pm term time
9.00am–5.00pm holiday time
Cost: £10.30 (per subsidised session)
Co-ordinator: John Herron

Please note: during the school holidays, children attending the after school club receive priority places, remaining places will then be made available for booking.

The clubs offer a range of stimulating and fun activities that are tailored to the interests and abilities of the individual, ensuring they remain motivated and engaged, including:

• Small world
• Jigsaws
• Messy play
• Arts and crafts
• Computing
• Sports
• Baking

Staff are constantly looking to introduce new activities in a way that meets the needs and learning styles of the children and young people attending.
