Sing, Sing, Sing! 2017 was an overwhelming triumph.

Sing, Sing, Sing! 2017 was an overwhelming triumph.

This year’s Sing, Sing, Sing was again a fantastic success with Fiona Kennedy hosting and Laura Pike as Director.

The event took place in the Beach Ballroom in front of a sell-out crowd.

A spectacular 172 singers took to the stage raising the roof and the spirits of all involved.

Roger Williams, Janey Lee Grace, Lisa Milne and Lydia Hutchinson were our esteemed adjudicators.

Out of the 10 choirs involved in the competition there could only be one winner. The overall winners were ‘The Mearns Singers’ who gave a tremendous performance of “Crossing the Bar” and “Ain’t No Sunshine”

The People’s Choice Award as voted by the audience went to the Ledingham Chalmers LLP choir ‘Law Law Land’ for their rendition of “What a Wonderful World” and a Medley from Sister Act.

The purpose of the event was to bring people together and what better way to do it than to meet people through singing.

In addition to this the event was also helping to support VSA’s Mental Health Services that provide vital assistance to local vulnerable adults on their journey to recovery. Over £28,000 was raised for which we are truly grateful.

The evening achieved everything it set out to do.

We would like to thank our sponsor Fiona Kennedy, Nae Ordinary Burns Supper and Aberdeen City Council who awarded us a grant for the use of the Beach Ballroom.

Thank you to everyone involved as it could not have been accomplished without any of you.
