There is no entry fee for our places.
All we ask is our runners raise a minimum of £1000
By running for us, you’re helping to make a difference for your local community.
We have the facility for online and paper sponsorship. Feel free to use either or both.
You can set up a Virgin Giving page http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/giving/, register for a personal challenge and select VSA as your charity. You can set it up as a group page if you’re planning a team effort. We find Virgin Giving is easiest – it’s paid directly to VSA and means no chasing friends and family for payment. Fundraising will send you a paper sponsorship.
Where will my sponsorship go?
You have the option to run for VSA in general, where funds will go to the service that most needs them at that time, or for a particular VSA service. We have more than 40 individual services under the VSA umbrella so there is a cause that’ll mean something to almost everyone. A lot of people like to know where there money is spent - It’s nice to know your efforts have gone towards making life better for someone else. You are more than welcome to visit any service you raise money for so they can see where your hard efforts go? Please remember to state which service you are running for so we can make sure the service is credited with your sponsorship money.
Personalised running top
Raising money for charity can give purpose to running the London Marathon and serve as a goal to work towards. If you’re running just for the sake of it, you may start to doubt yourself and feel tempted to give up when the going gets tough. You’ll be more inclined to get up and go training in the cold, wet winter months when you know you’re supporting a good cause and making a difference in your local community!
Lastly, when you need training or fundraising inspiration, we’ll be at the other end of the phone or email, full of ideas and information. Happy Training!
*please note your place is not guaranteed until you have had confirmation from a member of the fundraising team*
