Aberdeen Children's Society - Social Work Support for families in crisis

Many low income and one-parent families find it increasingly difficult to cope. One child in three in Scotland now lives in poverty and recent research shows that Aberdeen, generally regarded as a wealthy city, has its share of real poverty creating all sorts of difficulties within a family.

Each year our social work team offers families professional advice and ongoing help aimed at overcoming these difficulties. The team also offers practical support to over 1,800 families in crisis - providing immediate aid when it is most needed.

Regular requests are for support with essential items such as cookers, children's clothes and baby equipment. The team also provide emotional support, and advice on a range of issues. If you would like to talk to someone about these or any other matters please phone us, write or email. All enquiries will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.
