Older People in the Community

VSA's Older People Services incorporates the work of AgeCare Aberdeen providing both a range of accommodation for older people, and a variety of support services.  For over sixty years we have made the wellbeing of older people in the local community our priority, helping make the lives of older people in Aberdeen more independent, dignified & enjoyable.

Accommodation is available to suit the different needs of individuals from sheltered housing and housing with care and support to more traditional care homes.  All have a comfortable, homely atmosphere and a variety of social activities are organised for residents throughout the year, with opportunities for concerts and outings.  Other support services provided for older people include three activity centres and a dedicated older people's team providing social work support to vulnerable older people in our local community, amongst others.

Our Accommodation for Older People provides a wide variety of accommodation in a range of settings, from housing with care and support to sheltered housing, with differing levels of support to suit individual needs. Older people in our facilities enjoy a friendly atmosphere whilst receiving the best of care and attention.

VSA's AgeCare Aberdeen can help you to plan your move and make a smooth transition when you decide that the time is right.

Our Support in the Community provides a dedicated team of social workers who provide valuable advice for older people on services, housing, residential care, personal problems and benefits. They can also access various VSA Trust Funds and various volunteer schemes.

Our services include three Activity Centres which provide a wide range of social and recreational activities for anyone over the age of 55. The Centres help members form new friendships and to keep fit and actively involved in community life.
