Rebranding VSA

Message from the Chief Executive, Kenneth Simpson
Securing the Future

Important changes have taken place within VSA this year to ensure that we secure the future of our organisation.

On 1st April, we changed our operating name from Voluntary Service Aberdeen to VSA, as a result of consultation with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) and key stakeholders, and following a strategic review of our charity.

In addition, to help secure the future for VSA, we have drawn the individual parts of our organisation together. Our individual societies - Aberdeen Children's Society, AgeCare Aberdeen, Easter Anguston Farm, Linn Moor School, Richmondhill House and the St Aubin's Project - will no longer have their own charity numbers and logos. They will, however, retain their names and will continue providing their valuable services in the local community.

It is also important for our charity to strengthen its identity in the community and ensure that we are managing the organisation in the best and most cost-effective way that we can. Therefore a new, more cohesive charity identity has been developed which will incorporate all our service areas. Our new identity has been designed to unify all the individual parts of the organisation and give the agency a fresh, professional new look for the 21st century. Throughout the website you will see our new logo and how it fits with our services. The new brand identity has been introduced to all aspects of our work and will be seen on letterheads and leaflets, as well as on our vehicles and at our various establishments.

We are delighted that this re-branding is being funded by a number of key supporters from the local area:

  • Shell
  • AVC Fairweather Advertising
  • AVC Media
  • Halcon Print & Design
  • Passell
  • First Aberdeen
  • Adam & Co
  • Richard Simpson
  • G&J Investments
  • Johnston Carmichael
  • Duncan & Todd
  • General & Technical
  • J Barber & Son
  • James Mutch
  • Heat Connection

Our aim as a local charity to provide high-quality services to those in greatest need's will not change, but will be strengthened by our new identity. I would encourage the many valued supporters of VSA or any of our six societies to continue in your efforts on our behalf. You can be assured that your donations will be directed to the service area in which you are most interested and that we will continue providing the very best of care to individuals and families, young and old, in our local area.
