Tawnies, Trees & Terra: A Sculpture Walk on the Wild Side

North East Open Studios (NEOS) is an award winning collective of artists, makers and galleries based in the North East of Scotland run on voluntary grounds as a community organisation. Every year in September the open studios event serves to engage wider audiences in all aspects of art; to grow small-scale art and craft business in the north east of Scotland, and to provide a cohesive network of professional artists and makers.

This year VSA is offering as a unique venue, Easter Anguston Farm to both host and inspire installation art within the varied landscape of the Farm. Easter Anguston Farm has a long history of responsible farming whether restoring hedgerows, forest management, assisting in the re-introduction of Red Kites to the area, supporting pollination with meadows and wild flowers or just our recycling/composting activity.

We would hope that these 'green' initiatives along with our mainstream farming, soft fruit and plant sales will inspire artists and makers alike to consider, reflect and project these environmental themes in their art work in a way that is symbiotic with the physical environment whether it be trees, terra or tawny!.

Easter Anguston Farm is located just outside Aberdeen City in Peterculter. For more information about this opportunity, or to visit the Farm, please contact Bob McDonald, Director of Adult and Community Services.
