Local Couple Run Edinburgh Marathon to Support VSA

A Westhill husband and wife took on the weather as well as the
Moira, who is a Linkworker with VSA, supporting children with additional support needs to attend mainstream after school clubs, said, "This was an incredible experience - hard but very satisfying to have completed the marathon and raised a substantial sum for VSA, a charity supporting people in our local community. We are now struggling to decide whether the marathon box in our lives has been ticked, never to be repeated, or whether the bug has bitten and another beckons. More worryingly, the longer the time from the event the rosier the memories become - and the pain of the last few miles gets forgotten!"
The couple found the last 6 miles tough going, but were lifted by supporters who turned out regardless of the weather. Sean, a charge nurse in the ITU at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, completed the marathon in 3 hours 17 minutes while Moira came in behind him at 3 hours 53 minutes.
