VSA Photo Competition Winners Announced!

Local charity VSA (formerly Voluntary Service Aberdeen) are delighted to announce the two winners of their recent photographic competition, supported by the Evening Express, to find the perfect photo for their charity Christmas cards this year. Norman Harper, aged 58, of Aberdeen has won the over 18 age group with his photo of a wintry River Don at Persley and 16 year old Greg Spice from Essex has won the under 18 age group with his photo of a frosty rose.

The competition had a good response with over 100 photographs entered, making a difficult job for judges Simon Walton of the Evening Express, Graeme McMillan, VSA's Senior Graphics Designer, Diane McCabe, VSA's Director of Children & Family Services, and photographer Richard Simpson.

Graeme McMillan said, "There was a fantastic response to the competition, with a number of high quality entries. We are delighted with the two winning images which will work well on VSA's Christmas cards this year."

Norman and Greg each receive a prize of GBP300 from the Evening Express together with the opportunity to shadow an Evening Express photographer for a day. They will also receive photography equipment from John Lewis and an enlarged print of their winning photo, courtesy of Jessops in Bridge Street, framed by Peacock Visual Arts in Castle Street, both in Aberdeen.

The two winning photos will be reproduced on VSA's Christmas cards which will go on sale in the autumn to benefit VSA's wide range of caring services supporting individuals and families, young and old in the community.
