Fashion Show Funds Support VSA's Counselling Service for Children

24 April 2007

Following their recent highly successful fashion show, senior students at Robert Gordon's College have counted up the cash and are ready to make a fantastic donation of GBP4,000 to local social care charity VSA (formerly Voluntary Service Aberdeen).  The money will be used to support children's counselling services run by the charity.

The sixth form students, led by 17 year old Emma Noble, organised all aspects of the event, including liaising with companies about staging, lighting, music and choreography. Twenty-four students took part on the night as models and presented a professional show to a full house in the MacRobert Hall.

Emma said, "I am thrilled with how the fashion show went and I am so pleased to have raised GBP4000 for VSA! The money will go to VSA's Counselling Services to support children and young people in the city."

Sheila Munro, VSA's PR & Events Officer, said, "This is a tremendous achievement by this group of enterprising young people from Robert Gordon's College. The fashion show was very successful and extremely professional and they should be commended for their hard work. I'd like to congratulate them on their success and thank them warmly for such a fantastic donation which will help other young people in the community through our counselling services."
