Northfield Lodge
Northfield Lodge provides single room, barrier free accommodation for eighteen residents. In addition to the residents' own rooms, the Lodge offers a large airy lounge/ TV room, dining room and two smoking rooms as well as a laundry and shared pantries where residents can store and prepare food.
At Northfield Lodge residents are encouraged to be as independent as possible and free to establish their own routine. The staff will assist residents as often they can but the residents remain responsible for their own health and welfare. They are therefore encouraged to keep any appointments with medical personnel and also for taking their medication as prescribed. (Staff are available to assist with all of this as and when required).
What do we provide?
An evening meal is provided at Northfield Lodge but residents remain responsible for preparing and eating other meals or snacks throughout the day. Again the staff are happy to assist any resident who finds this a difficult or a forgotten skill and many residents enjoy their return to increased independence according to their ability.
A variety of activities is offered by the staff team for the residents who wish to take part. These can include trips to local parks, musical evenings and craft groups. A small TV is provided in each resident's room.
The residents have a meeting every second week at which they can make any requests or suggestions, and there is also a Project user's forum.
Rules
Residents may smoke in their own rooms but not in bed. The two smoking rooms are the only communal areas where smoking is allowed.
The registered manager is Andrew Gordon and staff are available on a 24-hour basis.
Where are we?
Northfield Lodge is located where Northfield meets Mastrick and our residents have easy access to the local community centre, church and a range of shops. There is a frequent bus service to and from the City Centre from a nearby bus stop.
